Bonusan Valeriana-Melissa extract (90 capsules) combines an extract of true valerian root (Valeriana officinalis) with Zensera™ – an extract of lemon balm leaves (Melissa officinalis). The product contains 320 mg valerian extract, standardised to at least 0.8% valerenic acid, and 160 mg lemon balm extract, standardised to 14–25% hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives and 7–15% rosmarinic acid. Odourless valerian has been chosen, so you won’t smell the characteristic strong scent of the root when taking it. The lemon balm is cultivated under controlled conditions in Europe. The plant-based capsules are suitable for vegans and can be part of your daytime or evening routine.
Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) is a perennial plant that naturally occurs in Europe and parts of Asia. In supplements, the root is used. It naturally has a strong, characteristic smell.
The smell of valerian root is so strong that you can even smell it through a capsule. By choosing odourless valerian, the capsules are more pleasant to take.
Valerenic acid is a characteristic component of valerian root. It is used as a marker to determine the quality and content of valerian extract. The extract in this product contains at least 0.8% valerenic acid.
Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is a herb from the mint family, just like mint, sage and thyme. It originates from the Mediterranean, and the leaves smell fresh and lemony. The name Melissa comes from the Greek word for honey bee, as bees are strongly attracted to the flowers.
Zensera™ is a patented extract of lemon balm, made solely from the leaves. The lemon balm is cultivated in Europe and is fully traceable from field to finished product.
With water extraction, the constituents are extracted from the plant using only water, without alcohol or other solvents. Zensera™ is made this way, without any added carriers.
