How the Applied Nutrition range is put together
Applied Nutrition is a British sports nutrition brand. It was founded in 2014 and formulates, blends and packs its products at its own site near Liverpool. That in-house production explains the pace of the range: new formats and flavours arrive far more often than at brands that outsource. It is one of the training-focused brands we stock.
Four ranges with four different jobs
The catalogue splits into four lines. Once you know them, choosing gets much simpler.

Protein is where the choice is widest. Critical Whey blends whey concentrate, isolate and hydrolysate, so it works as a daily all-rounder. ISO-XP is whey isolate only: less lactose, leaner macros per serving. Beef-XP is a clear, dairy-free hydrolysed beef isolate, useful if milk protein sits badly with you. On the stimulant side, ABE powder supplies 250 mg of caffeine per scoop and the 330 ml can 200 mg. That is a firm dose, so it suits people who already train on coffee or pre-workout rather than complete beginners. The added niacin and vitamin B12 contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. For late sessions, a stimulant-free option from our pre-workout selection is the calmer choice.
Creatine comes as micronised monohydrate powder, capsules and gummies. The molecule is the same in all three, so the real difference is dose and convenience. The powder gives 5 g per scoop, the gummies 3 g per serving with a little sugar. The creatine is the same molecule in both, so the body handles it the same way. The difference is the dose and the cost. Four gummies give 3 g of creatine monohydrate, which is the daily intake linked to the approved performance statement. A scoop of the micronised powder usually gives 5 g and costs less per gram. Gummies contain sugar and glucose syrup, so they are worth noting in a strict cut. Their real advantage is that people actually take them daily.
For protein, the daily total matters more than the clock. Many people use a shake after training because it is quick, others have one with breakfast or between meals to close the gap in their intake. Critical Whey is mixed with about 250 ml of water or milk. Creatine does not need to be timed around training at all: take your 3 to 5 g at the same moment every day, including rest days, because muscle stores fill up gradually over a few weeks.
Informed Sport is an independent programme run through LGC's anti-doping laboratory. For a certified product, every batch, including each flavour variant, is screened for substances banned in sport before release, and a sample of that batch is kept in storage. The manufacturing site is assessed too. That matters if you are subject to doping control, and it is useful reassurance for everyone else.
