How H2Tab hydrogen tablets work in your glass
H2Tab makes one thing: tablets that turn still water into hydrogen-rich water. Each tablet is built around elemental magnesium, combined with three fruit acids: malic acid from apples, tartaric acid from grapes and adipic acid from sugar beets. In water those acids break the magnesium down, and that reaction releases hydrogen gas as very small bubbles.
The practical side matters more than the chemistry. Drop one tablet into 350 to 500 ml of still, room-temperature water and give it about 90 to 120 seconds. The water clouds while the reaction runs, then clears again. Drink it soon after, because hydrogen is a gas and leaves the glass over time. Ice-cold water slows the reaction, and hot water holds less gas. Do not screw a bottle shut while a tablet is still fizzing.
What one tablet actually gives you

The brand's own guidance is to start with one tablet daily and go up to two or three if you want more. Keep the magnesium in mind before you do. Three tablets means 240 mg of elemental magnesium from this source alone, on top of anything else you take. The NHS notes that 400 mg or less a day of magnesium from supplements is unlikely to cause harm, and that higher short-term doses can cause diarrhoea. Follow the label and do not exceed it.
The cloudiness is the hydrogen gas itself, suspended as very small bubbles while the tablet reacts. It is not undissolved powder and it is not a fault. Once the fizzing settles the water clears again, and from that point the gas slowly escapes into the air. That is why every instruction says to drink it promptly rather than making it in advance. Making a bottle in the morning for the afternoon defeats the purpose of the format.
Avoid carbonated water, since the carbonation interferes with the reaction. Hot drinks such as coffee or tea are also a poor match: warm liquid holds less dissolved gas. Still, cool or room-temperature drinks work, which is why the unflavoured tablet is popular with people who add it to squash, lemon water or an electrolyte drink mix. Let the tablet dissolve first, then add anything else you want.
