Bonusan Vitamin B6 Methyl Complex (60 capsules) contains 20 mg vitamin B6 in the form of pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (P-5-P). Additionally, it contains vitamin B2 (riboflavin), folate as Quatrefolic®, vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin and 300 mg betaine (trimethylglycine). With only 1 capsule per day, taken during or just after a meal, it is easy to use. If you have difficulty swallowing, you can open the capsule. The plant-based capsules are suitable for vegans, and one pack lasts for 2 months.
Pyridoxal-5'-phosphate is the active form of vitamin B6. Many supplements contain pyridoxine, a form that is first converted to P-5-P. This product contains vitamin B6 directly as P-5-P.
Vitamin B6 is naturally found in, among other things, meat, fish, poultry, potatoes, bananas, chickpeas and whole grain products.
Folate is the collective name for forms of vitamin B11 that naturally occur in foods, such as green leafy vegetables and legumes. Folic acid is a synthetic form that is first converted to an active form, such as 5-MTHF. This product contains folate directly as 5-MTHF.
Vitamin B12 is naturally found in animal products such as meat, fish, eggs and dairy. There is virtually no vitamin B12 in plant-based foods. This is why vegans often opt for a vitamin B12 supplement.
An active form is the form in which the body ultimately uses a vitamin. Many supplements contain an inactive form, which must first be converted. This product contains three vitamins directly in their active form: vitamin B6 as pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (P-5-P), folate as 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) and vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin.
The manufacturer advises taking the capsule during or just after a meal. For many people, it is more pleasant to take a supplement with some food in the stomach. A fixed meal also helps to take the capsule at the same time every day, so you're less likely to forget.
