What is lactoferrin?
Lactoferrin is a protein that naturally occurs in milk, including breast milk and cow's milk. Lactoferrin can bind iron. That is what the name refers to: lacto means milk and ferrin means iron.
What happens to lactoferrin when it comes into contact with stomach acid?
In standard capsules, as used in this product, lactoferrin comes into contact with stomach acid during digestion, where it can be converted into lactoferricin.
What is lactoferricin?
Lactoferricin is a peptide, a small protein fragment. It is formed when lactoferrin comes into contact with stomach acid and is split by the digestive enzyme pepsin. Because this product is in standard capsules, the lactoferrin is converted in this way after intake.

Of all the proteins in the ingredient, at least 97% is lactoferrin. The remaining 3% consists of other milk proteins.
