Bonusan Lactoferrin Iron Complex (30 capsules) combines lactoferrin (Lactoferrin CLN®) with iron, in the form of iron bisglycinate, and vitamin C, in the form of magnesium ascorbate. Each capsule provides 150 mg lactoferrin, 15 mg iron and 80 mg vitamin C. The recommended dosage is 1 capsule daily, preferably taken with a light, easily digestible snack, such as a banana or apple.
Lactoferrin is a protein that naturally occurs in milk. The name is made up of 'lacto', which refers to milk, and 'ferrin', which refers to iron.
A Delayed Release capsule is a capsule form designed to withstand stomach acid, so the contents are only released further along the digestive tract.
Iron naturally occurs in, among other things, meat, fish, whole grains, legumes, nuts and green leafy vegetables.
Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin that naturally occurs in, among other things, citrus fruits, strawberries, peppers and broccoli.
Iron bisglycinate is a chelated form, where iron is bound to the amino acid glycine. Iron sulphate is an inorganic iron salt, without this amino acid binding.
Magnesium ascorbate is a form of vitamin C, in which ascorbic acid is bound to magnesium. This is also known as a buffered form of vitamin C.
