Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Cat (60 ml) contains fish oil for cats. The oil comes from wild-caught, sustainably fished anchovies, sardines, mackerel and herring. Each ml contains 142 mg EPA, 92 mg DHA, and a total of 294 mg omega-3 fatty acids in triglyceride form. The fish oil from Nordic Naturals is Friend of the Sea certified. With the included dosing pipette, you give 0.25 to 1.25 ml daily, adjusted to your cat's weight. Because the daily amount is small, one bottle lasts a long time.
Does the oil have a flavour?
This oil is unflavoured and has the natural scent and taste of fish oil.
What are omega-3 fatty acids?
Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fats that naturally occur in oily fish, shellfish, algae and certain plant sources. The best-known forms are EPA, DHA and ALA.
Why is there a dosing pipette included?
Cats receive a small amount of oil per day, starting from 0.25 ml. The dosing pipette allows you to measure these small amounts accurately.
What is a guaranteed analysis?
A guaranteed analysis states the minimum or maximum levels of certain components in a pet product. For this oil, it means at least 98.5% crude fat, maximum 0.2% moisture, at least 15% EPA, at least 10% DHA, and at least 32% total omega-3 fatty acids.
Which fish is the oil made from?
The fish oil comes from anchovies, sardines, mackerel and herring. These are small, oily fish that are at the bottom of the food chain and reproduce quickly. That is why they are often used as a source for fish oil.
