KIKI Health Activated Charcoal 300 mg (50 capsules) contains finely ground activated charcoal from coconut shells. This charcoal is activated and purified with steam, making it suitable for use in dietary supplements. Due to the very fine powder, the charcoal has a large surface area, which is typical for activated charcoal. The capsules make it easy to take this ingredient, for example around meals or whenever convenient. This product is suitable for people who want to use a plant-based supplement with activated charcoal, at home or on the go.
Activated charcoal (or: active carbon, activated carbon) is a specially treated form of carbon. Through a process with high temperatures and steam, a very porous structure is created with a large surface area.
For this supplement, activated charcoal is made from coconut shells. This natural material is heated and activated with steam to make it suitable for use as a food ingredient.
According to the instructions for use, adults and children age 12 and up can take 2 to 4 capsules after a meal with water.
Activated charcoal is known for its absorbent properties. That is why it is usually advised to take it at least one hour apart from other supplements or medication.
Activated charcoal is usually used short-term and incidentally. Use for longer than a week is not recommended unless specifically advised by a doctor or other expert.
Yes, activated charcoal can temporarily turn your stool black. This is a harmless and common effect of using charcoal capsules.
