Vitals Vitamin A 4000 IU (100 softgels) contains 1200 mcg vitamin A per vegan softgel in the form of retinyl palmitate. This is a stable compound, which ensures optimal effectiveness of vitamin A. The softgels are easy to swallow and completely plant-based, making them suitable for vegetarians and vegans. The product is free of common allergens. Due to the plant-based softgel and user-friendliness, it is a practical choice for those who want a substantial supplement of vitamin A.
4000 IU means 4000 International Units. 4000 IU of vitamin A equals 1200 µg RE of vitamin A.
In the Netherlands and Belgium, the maximum legal amount of vitamin A in supplements is set at 1200 mcg per day. This product contains exactly that amount. Be careful when combining with other supplements that contain vitamin A and seek advice from a specialist if needed.
Vitamin A is fat-soluble and is better absorbed in the presence of fat in the meal. The softgel contains MCT oil as a carrier, but fat from food further supports absorption.
This supplement is not suitable for children up to and including 14 years. There are specific supplements for children with an adjusted amount of vitamin A.
During pregnancy, too much vitamin A is undesirable. Pregnancy vitamins therefore often contain low concentrations of vitamin A or beta-carotene, which the body can convert into vitamin A. Use this product only in consultation with your doctor or midwife.
Retinyl palmitate is a direct form of vitamin A, while beta-carotene must first be converted by the body.
