What is Damiana?
Damiana, in Latin Turnera diffusa, is a shrub that naturally occurs in Central America, including Mexico, and parts of South America.
Which parts of the plant are used in this supplement?
This product contains the leaf and stem of the Damiana plant, processed into a powder form in the capsule.
Why are both the common and the botanical name of a plant mentioned?
The common name, such as Damiana, is the name by which a plant is known locally, while the botanical name, such as Turnera diffusa, is used worldwide within botany to uniquely identify the exact species.
What are the naturally occurring ingredients of Damiana?
Damiana leaf is botanically known for the presence of volatile oils, flavonoids and tannins. These substances occur naturally in the leaf of this plant.
What does "Full Spectrum" mean for a herbal extract?
"Full Spectrum" means that an extract or powder is made from the entire plant or the whole plant part, so that the various naturally occurring components are retained, instead of isolating one specific component.
Is Damiana also used in other ways besides capsules?
In addition to capsules, Damiana leaf is also processed into tea or tincture. This product specifically offers the herb in capsule form.
