Vitakruid Multi Night Man 50+ (30 or 90 tablets) is a multivitamin for men aged 50 and over, intended to be taken in the evening. Each tablet contains, among other things, 25 mcg vitamin D3 from algae (Vita-algae D®), 20 mcg vitamin K2 (VitaMK7®), 80 mg vitamin C, 12 mg zinc as zinc picolinate, and 200 mcg selenium. The formula also contains 100 mg N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC), 60 mg passionflower extract, 5 mg lutein, and 1 mg zeaxanthin. Take 1 tablet per day, two hours before bedtime. Thanks to the tablet form it is easy to take. Available in packs of 30 and 90 tablets.
Vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) is obtained from yeasts and mushrooms. Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) usually comes from animal sources, such as wool fat (lanolin). There are also plant sources, such as lichen and algae. This product contains vitamin D3 from algae.
VitaMK7® is the brand name of a vitamin K2 raw material in the form of menaquinone-7 (MK-7). MK-7 is the form of vitamin K2 that naturally occurs in fermented foods such as natto.
Zinc picolinate is zinc bound to picolinic acid, an organic acid. Other forms of zinc include zinc citrate, zinc gluconate and zinc bisglycinate.
NAC stands for N-acetyl-L-cysteine. It is a form of the amino acid cysteine, to which an acetyl group is attached. Cysteine is a sulphur-containing amino acid that naturally occurs in protein-rich foods such as meat, eggs, and dairy produce.
The ratio 9:1 means that 9 grams of passionflower are used for each gram of extract. Passionflower (Passiflora) is a climbing plant with striking flowers. Some species bear edible fruits, such as the passionfruit.
Lutein is a yellow carotenoid, a natural pigment from plants. It naturally occurs in foods such as kale, spinach, broccoli, and egg yolk.
Zeaxanthin is a yellow-orange carotenoid, related to lutein. It naturally occurs in foods such as maize (corn), pepper, saffron, and egg yolk. The name is derived from Zea mays, the Latin name for maize.
