Bon Charge builds hardware, not supplements. The brand started in 2017 as BLUblox, selling blue light blocking glasses, and now makes a wider set of light and recovery tools: red light devices, blackout sleep masks, low blue light bulbs and infrared PEMF mats. The idea behind the range is simple. The light around you in the evening is one of the few things you can actually change.
Three groups cover most of what people buy. First, glasses in three lens tints, with clip-ons, readers and prescription options. Second, red light devices for face and body, including a flexible silicone mask that combines red and near-infrared LEDs. Third, environment products: blackout sleep masks, bulbs without blue light, and shielding accessories. Many shoppers pair a device with supplements for night rest, and the two solve different problems. Hardware changes your light exposure, capsules and drops work from the inside.
This is the part most people get wrong. A clear lens cannot remove the full range of blue and green light, because a lens that filters those wavelengths always shows a visible tint. Bon Charge splits its lenses by time of day: clear for daytime screen work, yellow for indoor artificial light, amber-red for after sunset. The amber-red lenses block 100% of light between 400nm and 550nm, and the brand publishes a lens report per product so you can check the figure yourself. For an evening wind-down, the kind of routine MIND + SLEEP is built around, the tinted lenses are the relevant ones.
We are brand-neutral and outcome-first, so a brand has to earn its place here. Bon Charge publishes a lens report for each product, which lets you verify what a lens filters instead of trusting the phrase "blue light". It is also clear that clear lenses cannot do the same job as tinted ones, a distinction many brands blur. We buy directly from the brand, with no intermediaries, so what reaches you is authentic. Every item passes our compliance team before it goes live, and we test products ourselves. How we select our brands.
Bon Charge sits at the premium end, and that is a fair thing to weigh up. The honest picture on evidence: a 2023 Cochrane review of 17 trials found no clear benefit of blue-light filtering lenses for eye strain, and the sleep results were inconsistent. Independent testers who wore the glasses for weeks describe feeling ready for bed earlier, while occasional use did little. These are habit tools, not quick fixes.
The same logic applies to the face mask. Short sessions of about ten minutes, most evenings, over two to three months, and comfort is what keeps you consistent. Testers also report mild light leakage at the edges, as with most LED masks. So the brand fits you if you already keep a steady evening routine, or if you run a skincare routine you want to extend with a device. If you mainly want something cheap and quick, dimmer lighting after dark and a basic pair of amber glasses will get you a long way first.
Bon Charge makes light-based wellness hardware rather than supplements. The range covers blue light blocking glasses in three lens tints, red light devices for face and body, blackout sleep masks, bulbs without blue light, EMF shielding accessories, infrared sauna blankets and infrared PEMF mats. The company was founded in 2017 and was originally called BLUblox, when it sold only glasses. Everything still circles back to the same theme: managing the light in your day and your evening.
