Vitakruid Magnesium L-Threonate (90 capsules) contains magnesium in the form of L-threonate, bound to L-threonic acid. Magtein® is used for this, a patented form of magnesium L-threonate. A daily dose of 3 capsules provides 2,000 mg magnesium L-threonate, which yields 147 mg magnesium and 1,700 mg L-threonic acid. You take the capsules all at once in the evening so the supplement easily fits your evening routine. Thanks to the capsule form, they are easy to take. Available in 90 capsules, enough for 30 days.
Magnesium L-threonate is a form of magnesium in which the mineral is bound to L-threonic acid. It is an organically bound form of magnesium.
L-threonic acid is an organic acid that is formed when vitamin C is broken down. That is why it is also called a metabolite of vitamin C. In this supplement, magnesium is bound to L-threonic acid.
Magtein® is the brand name for a patented form of magnesium L-threonate. This form was developed by scientists from, among others, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Elemental magnesium is the amount of pure magnesium in a magnesium compound. L-threonic acid is a relatively large molecule. As a result, magnesium L-threonate contains only a small fraction of magnesium. In 2,000 mg magnesium L-threonate there is 147 mg elemental magnesium.
Magnesium is mainly found in nuts, seeds and kernels, such as pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds and Brazil nuts. Cocoa, green leafy vegetables, legumes and whole grain products also contain magnesium.
