Vitakruid Magnesium Elite⁶ Complex (90 tablets) contains 150 mg of elemental magnesium per tablet, divided over six organically bound compounds: bisglycinate, lysinate, pidolate, taurate, aspartate, and glycerophosphate. The formula is supplemented with calcium and vitamin B6 in the active form pyridoxal-5-phosphate. Thanks to the combination of several magnesium compounds, a broad magnesium complex is created. Each form is attached to an organic carrier, such as an amino acid or glycerophosphate.
Magnesium naturally occurs in various foods, such as nuts, seeds, kernels, whole grains, legumes, and green leafy vegetables. Cocoa and certain mineral waters can also contain magnesium.
Vitamin B6 is a water-soluble vitamin that occurs in small amounts in, among others, whole grain products, potatoes, bananas, meat, fish, and legumes. In supplements, vitamin B6 can be used in various forms, including pyridoxal-5-phosphate.
Magnesium in supplements is always bound to another substance, such as an amino acid or organic acid. This is because magnesium as a pure mineral does not occur stably. The substance to which magnesium is attached determines the name and structure of the compound.
