Vitakruid Magnesium 150 Bisglycinate (90 or 180 tablets) contains magnesium in the form of bisglycinate, bound to the amino acid glycine. Each tablet provides 150 mg magnesium, 914 mg glycine and 200 mg L-taurine. Take 1 tablet before bedtime and you can increase this to a maximum of 3 tablets a day. Thanks to the tablet form, they are easy to take and flexible to dose. Available in packs of 90 and 180 tablets.
Magnesium bisglycinate is magnesium bound to two molecules of the amino acid glycine. That is what the prefix “bis” refers to, meaning “two.” Because magnesium is bound to an amino acid in this way, magnesium bisglycinate belongs to the amino acid chelates.
Glycine is the smallest and simplest amino acid. It is naturally found in protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, dairy and legumes.
L-taurine is a sulphur-containing amino acid. Unlike most amino acids, taurine is not used as a building block for proteins. It is naturally present in, among other things, meat, fish and shellfish.
Magnesium is found in wholegrain bread and other cereal products, green leafy vegetables, dairy, meat, nuts and legumes. Nuts, seeds and kernels, such as pumpkin seeds, are particularly rich in magnesium.
Elemental magnesium is the amount of pure magnesium in a magnesium compound. In magnesium bisglycinate, most of the weight consists of glycine. Each tablet contains 150 mg elemental magnesium and 914 mg glycine from the same compound.
