TruHeight Growth Protein Shake Chocolate (408 grams) is a protein powder based on whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate. A serving of half a scoop (about 13.6 g) provides 8 g of protein. In addition, the shake contains vitamin D3, calcium (as calcium carbonate) and magnesium (as magnesium glycinate). Zinc (as zinc citrate) is also part of the formula, together with vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E. The shake also contains various B vitamins, as well as L-taurine and inositol. One package contains 30 servings at this serving size. The shake is prepared by mixing the powder with a liquid of your choice.
Whey protein is a protein obtained from milk during the cheese-making process. It is widely used as a protein source in food supplements and shakes.
Whey protein concentrate contains small amounts of fat and carbohydrates in addition to protein, while whey protein isolate undergoes further processing, resulting in higher protein content and less fat and carbohydrates.
Different rules apply in the Netherlands and the EU regarding the maximum amounts of vitamins and minerals in products for children. Based on those rules, we have adjusted the age limit upwards. The manufacturer's advice is based on US regulations and is therefore not directly applicable here.
Inositol is a substance naturally found in, among other things, citrus fruits, beans, grains and nuts.
L-taurine is an amino acid-like substance that occurs naturally in, among other things, meat, fish and dairy products.
