Bonusan Active Vitamin B12 8000 Complex (60 lozenges) has a complete formula with 8000 mcg vitamin B12, divided over methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin. This product also contains 400 mcg folate in the active form Quatrefolic® and 3.5 mg vitamin B6 as pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P-5-P). The lozenges dissolve quickly in the mouth and are practical for people who have difficulty swallowing or prefer not to take capsules.
This supplement contains methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin. These are two forms of vitamin B12 that both occur in foods. They work slightly differently and complement each other well, which is why they are often used together.
Methylcobalamin is a commonly used, very stable form of B12. Adenosylcobalamin (also called dibencozide) is another form mainly found in animal products. By combining them, you get a more complete supplement.
Folate (in this case Quatrefolic®) is the active form of vitamin B11. It does not need to be converted and is ready for use. This form is also very soluble and is often chosen for high-quality products.
P-5-P is the active form of vitamin B6. This means it can be used immediately by the body, without first needing to be converted.
A lozenge melts in your mouth. The vitamins can then be absorbed via the mucous membrane. This is convenient if you have difficulty swallowing or prefer not to use capsules.
