Bonusan Active Vitamin B12 1500 Complex (90 or 180 tablets) contains a high dosage of vitamin B12 in the biologically available forms methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin (dibencozide), supplemented with active folate (Quatrefolic®). The combination of these well-absorbable forms is suitable for people who want to supplement consciously. Each tablet contains 1500 mcg of vitamin B12 and 200 mcg of folate. The tablets are suitable for daily use and fit within both a regular and plant-based diet.
Folic acid is a synthetic form of vitamin B11, a vitamin that belongs to the B-complex group. It is often added to supplements and enriched foods.
Folate is the natural, active form of vitamin B11 as it occurs in foods. Folic acid must still be converted to folate before it is available for use by the body.
An active form means the nutrient has already been converted into a directly usable form, such as 5-MTHF (for folate) or methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin (for vitamin B12). This means there are no extra steps needed before it can be used.
Quatrefolic® is a patented form of active folate (5-MTHF bound to glucosamine). This form is standardized and developed for good solubility and stability.
