Applied Nutrition Critical Plant Protein (450 g) is a plant-based protein powder made from soy protein isolate, pea protein isolate, and brown rice protein. This protein blend provides more than 24 grams of protein per serving and contains naturally occurring essential amino acids and BCAAs. The formula is suitable for vegans and vegetarians and is available in Vanilla and Strawberry flavors. Thanks to the fine texture, the powder mixes easily with water for a creamy shake.
Each 30-gram serving contains 107 kcal, 0.9 g fat, 0.3 g saturated fat, 1.9 g carbohydrates, 0 g sugars, 24.6 g protein, and 0 g salt.
By combining multiple plant-based protein sources, a broader amino acid profile is created than with just a single protein source. Pea protein and rice protein complement each other well, while soy protein is naturally a complete plant-based protein.
Pea protein is a good plant-based protein source, but it naturally contains a lower amount of certain sulfur-containing amino acids, such as methionine. By combining it with rice protein and soy protein, the amino acid profile becomes more complete and better balanced.
No sugars have been added. The protein powder is sweetened with steviol glycosides and sucralose.
This is a concentrated form of protein in which the protein from the original source, such as soy or peas, is largely separated from carbohydrates, fats, and fibers. This means the product contains relatively high protein per serving.
