Applied Nutrition BEEF-XP Beef Protein Isolate (150 grams) is a clear protein powder based on hydrolysed beef protein isolate from grass-fed cattle. A 30 g scoop provides 27 g protein, including all essential amino acids, for about 112 kcal. When mixed with water, it becomes a clear, refreshing fruit-flavoured drink instead of a creamy shake. You can also mix the powder into porridge or breakfast cereals or use it in baking recipes. With 5 servings, this pack is handy to try out a flavour or to take with you when travelling. BEEF-XP 150 grams is available in Pineapple, Berry Mix, Blue Raspberry, Cola, Cherry & Apple and Blackcurrant flavours.
Beef protein isolate is protein extracted from beef and then purified to an isolate. This creates a powder that consists mainly of protein and contains little fat.
During hydrolysis, proteins are broken down into smaller pieces, called peptides, with the aid of enzymes. This means the powder dissolves well in water and results in a clear drink.
Clear protein is a protein powder that does not form a creamy shake, but a clear, light drink. In terms of texture, it is more like squash or lemonade than a milkshake.
Yes, beef protein isolate, as used in this product, naturally contains all essential amino acids, which is characteristic of animal protein sources.
Essential amino acids are amino acids that can only be obtained through external nutrition or dietary supplements. They differ from non-essential amino acids, which are not part of this group.
BCAA's stands for Branched-Chain Amino Acids, in other words, branched amino acids. These include leucine, isoleucine, and valine. These amino acids are part of the essential amino acids and occur naturally in protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, dairy, eggs and protein supplements.
