This fiber-rich powder is intended for mixing with water, juice, or other liquids when extra fiber is desired. A serving of one tablespoon of psyllium provides 7 grams of dietary fiber.
How do I use psyllium husk powder?
Mix 1 tablespoon with a generous amount of water or juice and consume immediately. Additionally, you can incorporate psyllium into bread, pancakes, and muffins. Ensure that you drink sufficient extra fluids throughout the day.
Why should I drink enough water when using psyllium fibers?
Psyllium fibers absorb a lot of moisture and swell in the intestines. If fluid intake is insufficient, psyllium fibers may clump in the intestines. Therefore, drink at least 1.5 to 2 liters of water daily.
Can I take psyllium if I am using medications?
Due to their water-binding properties in the intestines, they can reduce the absorption of active substances from medications (including the oral contraceptive pill). Therefore, always take psyllium at least 2 hours before or after your medication.
What does psyllium taste like?
