L-methylfolate is a direct, biologically active form of folate. Unlike synthetic folic acid, it does not need to be converted first in the body. It naturally occurs as a breakdown product of folate in foods like green leafy vegetables and legumes.
This product contains 5000 mcg (=5 mg) folate per daily dose, which is higher than the amount suitable for long-term daily use. This product is therefore only intended for short-term use (unless otherwise advised by your doctor).
