Nature's Way Vitamin D3 1000 (120 softgels) contains vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) in a compact mini-softgel. The formula is based on organic extra virgin olive oil and contains natural ingredients such as rosemary extract, vitamin E and natural flavor. The softgels are small in size, easy to swallow and lightly flavored with orange.
Vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) is a plant-based form of vitamin D, while D3 (cholecalciferol) is often derived from animal sources and widely used in supplements due to its broad application.
Vitamin D3 occurs naturally in fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel and herring, but also in egg yolks and fortified foods like margarine.
Olive oil is used as a carrier in the capsule, which helps to properly incorporate fat-soluble ingredients like vitamin D3 into the capsule.
It is recommended to take this softgel with a meal, especially with a fatty meal, because vitamin D is fat-soluble.
