Are NOW Foods products vegan or vegetarian?
Many are, but not all. Traditional softgels and some capsules use gelatine of beef origin, while a large part of the line uses plant cellulose capsules marked Veg Caps on the label. Fish oil, krill oil and collagen are animal based by nature. Check the front label for Veg Caps and the ingredient list for gelatine before you order, since the same nutrient is often available in both versions.
Are the products free from gluten and artificial sweeteners?
Products carrying the gluten-free seal are tested to 20 parts per million of gluten or less, which is the threshold used for gluten-free labelling. Not every item is tested this way, so the seal is what counts, not an assumption about the ingredient. Within NOW Sports, products are made without aspartame, sucralose and acesulfame-K.
