Laveen Bio-Cultures Drops for baby and child (18 ml) contain the bacterial strains Bifidobacterium infantis and Lactobacillus fermentum, providing 500 million colony-forming units per daily dose of 12 drops. The bacterial strains are in organic MCT oil from coconut, allowing you to dose easily per drop. You can give the drops directly from a spoon or mix them into a bottle, milk, yoghurt or porridge, so they easily fit into your child’s morning routine. The drops are suitable from birth up to and including 4 years and also suitable for vegans. One bottle lasts for 30 days.
Bifidobacterium infantis is a bacterial species from the genus Bifidobacterium. Bacteria from this genus are used, among other things, in fermented dairy products such as certain yoghurts and kefir.
Lactobacillus fermentum is a lactic acid bacterium that naturally occurs in fermented foods such as sourdough and fermented dairy. Since 2020, this bacterium is officially called Limosilactobacillus fermentum. The old name is still often used on packaging.
Colony-forming units, abbreviated CFU, is the unit used to express the number of live bacteria. It indicates how many bacteria can grow into a visible colony in a laboratory.
MCT stands for medium-chain triglycerides, a type of fat that naturally occurs in coconut oil. MCT oil is liquid at room temperature and has a neutral scent and taste. In these drops, the oil serves as a carrier for the bacterial strains.
Drops are easy to measure out daily and simple to give to babies and young children. You can give them directly from a spoon or mix them into a liquid or soft meal, with no need to dissolve a powder.
