Bonusan UC-II Collagen (60 capsules) combines standardised chicken cartilage (UC-II®) with vitamin C, in the form of L-ascorbic acid (PureWay-C™). Each capsule provides 40 mg chicken cartilage, of which 10 mg total collagen including undenatured type II collagen, and 40 mg vitamin C. UC-II® is a patented form of collagen, derived from chicken cartilage. The recommended dosage is 1 to 2 capsules daily, to be taken on an empty stomach.
Collagen is a protein derived from animal sources, such as skin, bones, tendons, and cartilage.
Collagen occurs in different types. Type 1 and 3 are mainly derived from skin, tendons and bones, whereas type 2 is mainly obtained from cartilage.
Undenatured collagen means that the original spatial structure of the collagen has remained intact, as opposed to processed forms such as collagen peptides.
With undenatured collagen, the original structure is intact. Collagen peptides have already been broken down into smaller parts, which means a different processing method.
UC-II® is a brand name for a patented form of undenatured type 2 collagen, derived from chicken cartilage.
Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin naturally found in citrus fruits, strawberries, peppers and broccoli.
PureWay-C™ is a brand name for a specific form of vitamin C, bound to natural fatty acid metabolites.
