Bonusan UC-II Collagen Complex Pro (60 capsules) contains standardised chicken cartilage (UC-II®). Each 2 capsules contain 40 mg chicken cartilage, of which 10 mg total collagen including undenatured type II collagen. The formula is further enhanced with turmeric extract (Curcuwin Ultra+™), feverfew extract and frankincense extract (Boswellia serrata), each standardised to specific active constituents. Green-lipped mussel has also been added. In addition, the formula contains vitamin D3, manganese, zinc, boron and copper. The recommended dosage is 2 capsules daily, to be taken during or shortly after a meal.
UC-II® is a patented raw material of undenatured type 2 collagen. Undenatured means the spatial structure of the collagen has remained intact.
With undenatured collagen, such as UC-II®, the original structure of the collagen is intact. Collagen peptides, by contrast, have already been broken down into smaller pieces.
Curcuma longa, also known as turmeric, is a plant whose rhizome extract is used in this product.
Boswellia serrata, also known as the frankincense tree, is a tree that naturally occurs in parts of India and Africa. The resin of this tree is used in this extract.
A standardised extract has a guaranteed content of certain active ingredients, ensuring consistent composition between different batches.
Zinc is naturally found in meat, fish, dairy, nuts and legumes.
Vitamin D2 comes from yeasts and fungi, while vitamin D3 usually comes from animal sources. This product contains vitamin D3 in the form of cholecalciferol.
