Bonusan PQQ Energy Complex (60 vegetarian capsules) combines pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) with the active form of vitamin B12 (adenosylcobalamin). PQQ naturally occurs only in small amounts in certain foods, but is present in concentrated form as a supplement. This product is suitable for vegetarians and comes in well-absorbable capsules, making it easy to take.
PQQ is a substance that naturally occurs in small amounts in certain foods, such as fermented soy (natto), green peppers, parsley, spinach, and kiwi.
Vitamin B12 is often combined with PQQ in supplements. In this product, adenosylcobalamin is chosen, a specific form of B12 that belongs to the biologically active forms.
Adenosylcobalamin is one of the natural forms of vitamin B12, just like methylcobalamin. Other forms, such as cyanocobalamin, are often used because of their stability, but must first be converted. Some supplements contain the active forms directly.
Vitamin B12 is found exclusively in animal foods, such as meat, fish, eggs, milk, and other dairy products. Plant foods naturally contain hardly any B12, unless they have been fortified.
PQQ occurs in small amounts in foods such as natto (fermented soy), green tea, parsley, spinach, and certain fruits like kiwi. However, the concentrations in foods are low compared to supplements.
