NOW Foods Vitamin B-12 (cobalamin) 2,000 mcg is a water-soluble vitamin needed to maintain a healthy nervous system and to produce energy from fats and proteins. Vitamin B-12 is also essential for the synthesis of DNA during cell division and therefore is especially important for rapidly multiplying cells, such as blood cells. Although B-12 is stored in the liver, dietary sources are only of animal origin (meat and dairy). Therefore, supplementation with B-12 may be especially important for strict vegetarians. This product provides vitamin B12 in three forms, including the two readily available and activated coenzyme forms, methylcobalamin and dibencozide.
