What sets Bonusan supplements apart
Bonusan is a Dutch supplement company from Numansdorp. It was founded in 1966 by the Bogaerds family and is still run by the third generation. Products are developed in its own factory, together with health professionals across Europe. That background shows in the catalogue: more than 350 specialist products, from standardised herbal formulas to single nutrients. You will find it among our full brand range.
The nutrient forms do the work
Bonusan tends to use forms the body can use straight away. In the multivitamins, vitamin B6 appears as pyridoxal-5-phosphate, vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin and folate in its active form. Vitamin K2 is supplied as menaquinone-7. Magnesan Forte Plus, on the shelves for over twenty years, combines magnesium malate and citrate with taurine and L-glycine, which is unusual in a magnesium tablet. Formulas leave out synthetic colours, flavours and fragrances, and most avoid gelatin, yeast and sucrose.
What the range covers
- Basics: multivitamins, vitamin C as an ascorbate complex, and vitamin D3 options including D3 with K2.
- Gut: the Bacteri products, with Bacteri 17 offering 17 bacterial strains in sachets.
- Herbal formulas: standardised extracts such as the ginseng, rhodiola and schisandra blend in Relaxonyl.
- Specialist: lactoferrin, a Topsport line for athletes, and cPNI products written for certified PNI therapists.
Why we stock Bonusan at BONO
We look at three things before a brand goes on our shelves: the form of the ingredient, the dosage, and whether a combination makes sense. Bonusan scores well on all three, which is why it sits alongside brands we already trust. We are not pushing it for margin; we carry it because the labels are specific and the forms are the ones we would choose ourselves. We buy directly from the brand, so you get authentic stock, our compliance team checks every product before it goes live, and independent labs spot-check batches. Curious about the rest of our method? Read how we select our brands.
Who it suits, and what to expect
Bonusan fits you if you already read labels and want to know exactly which form of a nutrient you are taking. Many buyers come to the brand through an osteopath, dietitian or therapist, but you do not need a referral for the general range. The honest part: it costs more than a supermarket multivitamin, because active forms and standardised extracts are more expensive raw materials. If price matters more to you than the specific form, a simpler product may serve you just as well.
Two more practical points. Give a daily supplement two to three weeks of consistent use before you judge it; nutrient levels move slowly. And check the label if you avoid animal ingredients: the D3 in Bone Formula is vegan, but the krill oil capsule wall uses fish gelatin and lactoferrin comes from milk. The cPNI products are the one part of the range where advice from a certified PNI therapist is genuinely worth having first, since they are dosed around a personal plan.
