Biotin is a water-soluble B vitamin, also known as vitamin B8, B-4 or vitamin H. It naturally occurs in foods such as eggs, nuts, and grains.

D-biotin is the form of biotin that the body can use directly. Biotin bitartrate is a salt form in which biotin is bound to tartaric acid for better stability or solubility, but in the body, the same active D-biotin is ultimately released.

D-biotin is the biologically active, natural form of biotin that the body can use. Many other forms, such as L-biotin or racemic mixtures, have little or no biological activity.

High doses of biotin (from 5000 mcg) can affect certain blood tests. At the recommended dosage of 300 mcg, it is unlikely that this product will affect laboratory results.
