Vitakruid Calcium 1000 Mama (90 chewable tablets) contains 1000 mg of calcium from the red algae Lithothamnion calcareum (Aquamin®) and 10 mcg of vitamin D3 per daily dose of two chewable tablets. The formula is specially developed for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The chewable tablets have a natural orange flavour, are easy to break thanks to the score line, and offer a practical alternative to capsules or tablets. The packaging contains 120 chewable tablets, enough for 60 days at the recommended dosage.

What is the difference between vitamin D2 and vitamin D3?
Vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) is obtained from yeasts and mushrooms. Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is the form that naturally occurs in animal foods, such as oily fish and eggs, and is usually derived from wool fat. There are also plant-based forms of vitamin D3, derived from lichen. This supplement contains vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol).
Why should you preferably take vitamin D3 with a meal?
Vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble vitamin. That is why it is often recommended to take a vitamin D3 supplement with a meal.
