Vitakruid Multi Day & Night Mama Capsules is a two-part multivitamin formula for women wishing to conceive and during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The formula consists of two products: 60 day capsules & 30 night capsules (30 days) and 180 day capsules & 90 night capsules (90 days). The day formula includes, among other things, 400 mcg folate as Quatrefolic®, 110 mg choline, a complete B-complex and 15 mg iron. The night formula supplements this with vitamin D3 from algae (20 mcg), vitamin K2 as MenaQ7®, calcium from red algae (Aquamin®), iodine and zinc. By splitting between day and evening, the capsule size remains smaller and the total daily dosage is divided.

What is the difference between iron bisglycinate and other forms of iron?
Iron is available in different compounds, such as fumarate, sulphate and bisglycinate. In this formula, iron bisglycinate has been chosen, a chelated form in which iron is bound to the amino acid glycine.
Why has vitamin B6 been added as pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P5P)?
Vitamin B6 is found in several forms, including pyridoxine and pyridoxal-5-phosphate. P5P is the biologically active form of vitamin B6 and is therefore often used in high-quality formulas.
What is the difference between methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin?
Vitamin B12 exists in different forms. Cyanocobalamin is a synthetic form that must first be converted. Methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin are biologically active forms and are therefore used directly in this formula.
Why is calcium sourced from red algae (Aquamin®) and not from calcium carbonate?
Calcium can come from different sources, such as limestone (calcium carbonate) or plant sources. Aquamin®, a mineral complex from red algae that naturally contains calcium and trace minerals, is used in this formula.
What is the difference between folic acid and 5-MTHF (Quatrefolic®)?
