Vitakruid Multi Day & Night Mama Capsules is a two-part multivitamin formula for women with a desire to have children, during pregnancy, and breastfeeding. The formula consists of two products: 60 day capsules & 30 night capsules (30 days) and 180 day capsules & 90 night capsules (90 days). The day formula contains, among others, 400 mcg folate as Quatrefolic®, 110 mg choline, a complete B-complex, and 15 mg iron. The night formula supplements this with, among others, vitamin D3 from algae (20 mcg), vitamin K2 as MenaQ7®, calcium from red algae (Aquamin®), iodine, and zinc. By spreading intake throughout the day and evening, the capsule size remains smaller and the total daily dosage is divided.
Vitamin K2 exists in different forms, including MK-4 and MK-7. MK-7 has longer stability and is therefore often used in supplements. This formula uses MenaQ7®, a patented form of MK-7.
Vitamin D exists in several forms, including D2 (ergocalciferol) and D3 (cholecalciferol). This formula uses D3 from algae (Vita-algae D®), a plant-based source of vitamin D3.
Iron is available in various compounds, such as fumarate, sulfate, and bisglycinate. This formula uses iron bisglycinate, a chelated form where iron is bound to the amino acid glycine.
Vitamin B6 exists in various forms, including pyridoxine and pyridoxal-5-phosphate. P5P is the biologically active form of vitamin B6 and is therefore often used in high-quality formulas.
Vitamin B12 is available in different forms. Cyanocobalamin is a synthetic form that first has to be converted. Methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin are biologically active forms and are therefore used directly in this formula.
Calcium can come from various sources, such as limestone (calcium carbonate) or plant-based sources. This formula uses Aquamin®, a mineral complex from red algae that naturally contains calcium and trace minerals.
Folic acid is the synthetic form of vitamin B11. 5-MTHF is the biologically active form of folate. Quatrefolic® delivers this active form directly.
