NOW Foods Candillon (90 or 180 capsules) is a supplement with a combination of plant-based ingredients and nutrients. A daily dose of 2 capsules contains, among others, pau d’arco, black walnut, oregano oil powder, magnesium caprylate, and biotin. What is caprylic acid?
Caprylic acid (also known as octanoic acid) is a medium-chain fatty acid (MCT). It is a saturated fatty acid that naturally occurs in coconut oil, palm kernel oil, and in smaller amounts in dairy products.
What exactly is pau d’arco?
Pau d’arco is the inner bark of the Tabebuia heptaphylla tree, which grows in South America. Traditionally, it is used in extracts and herbal teas and naturally contains compounds such as lapachol and other phenols.
What is black walnut (black walnut hull)?
Black walnut (Juglans nigra) is a type of nut whose shell (the ‘hull’) is used in supplements. It naturally contains tannins and other bioactive substances. It is important to know that this product therefore contains a tree nut.
Why is oregano oil added in powder form?
Oregano oil in powder form is obtained from the leaves of Origanum vulgare and standardized for use in capsules. The powder form provides better distribution in the capsule and prevents the strong taste and smell of pure oregano oil.
Why should this supplement be taken with a meal?
