Zanthin® is a brand name for a high-quality form of natural astaxanthin. It is extracted from the microalga Haematococcus pluvialis, which is known as the richest natural source of astaxanthin.
Natural astaxanthin is extracted from the alga Haematococcus pluvialis and is well absorbed. Synthetic astaxanthin is often used in fish feed (such as for salmon), but is not approved for human use in the Netherlands.
