Nature’s Way Vitamin B-100 Complex (60 or 100 capsules) is a high-dose vitamin B complex containing all eight B vitamins in a single capsule. Each capsule contains 100 mg thiamine (B1), 100 mg riboflavin (B2), 100 mg niacin (B3), 100 mg pantothenic acid (B5), 50 mg vitamin B6, 100 mcg biotin (B7), 400 mcg folic acid (B9) and 100 mcg vitamin B12. In addition, each capsule contains 25 mg choline and 100 mg inositol. The forms riboflavin-5'-phosphate and pyridoxal-5'-phosphate are used for vitamin B2 and B6, among others. You only need to take 1 capsule per day, preferably with a meal, making the supplement easy to fit into your daily routine. With 60 or 100 capsules per pack, you have enough for 2 or well over 3 months.
B vitamins naturally occur in many different foods. Examples include wholegrain products, meat, fish, eggs, dairy, legumes, nuts and green leafy vegetables. Vitamin B12 is found almost exclusively in animal products.
Riboflavin-5'-phosphate is a form of vitamin B2 in which riboflavin is attached to a phosphate group. It is also called the active form of vitamin B2. Riboflavin-5'-phosphate dissolves better in water than regular riboflavin.
Folate is the natural form of vitamin B9 and can be found in leafy vegetables, legumes, and wholegrain products. Folic acid is the synthetic form that is often used in supplements. On the label, folate is shown as DFE (Dietary Folate Equivalents). 400 mcg folic acid is equivalent to 666 mcg DFE.
Choline is a nutrient related to the B vitamins, but it is not officially considered a vitamin. It naturally occurs in eggs, meat, fish, broccoli and legumes, among others. In this supplement, choline is used in the form of choline bitartrate, a compound of choline and tartaric acid.
Inositol is a substance naturally present in citrus fruits, beans, grains and nuts. Like choline, inositol is often included in B complexes, although it is not officially a vitamin.
Vitamin B2 is naturally bright yellow. Because of this, your urine can become a brighter yellow when using a B complex. This is simply because of the colour of the substance.
Niacinamide, also called nicotinamide, is a form of vitamin B3. Another form, nicotinic acid, can cause a flush in higher amounts: a temporary redness and warming of the skin. Niacinamide does not cause this reaction.
