Nature’s Way Niacinamide 500 mg (100 capsules) contains 500 mg of niacin in the form of niacinamide per capsule. Niacinamide, also known as nicotinamide, is a form of vitamin B3. You only need 1 capsule per day, preferably with a meal, making it easy to fit the supplement into your daily routine. The capsules are easy to swallow and suitable for vegans. Vitamin B3 is one of the eight B vitamins. It is a water-soluble vitamin that naturally occurs in many foods. Vitamin B3 is also called niacin. That is the umbrella term for the different forms of this vitamin.
The main practical difference is the so-called flush. With higher amounts of nicotinic acid, the skin can temporarily become red, warm or tingling, especially on the face and neck. Niacinamide does not cause this reaction. That’s why niacinamide is also referred to on packaging as the non-flush form of vitamin B3.
Vitamin B3 is found in both animal and plant foods. Good examples are meat, poultry, fish such as tuna and salmon, whole grain products, legumes, peanuts and other nuts, and mushrooms.
Niacinamide is also a well-known ingredient in skincare, such as serums and creams. It’s the same substance, but the use differs. You take a supplement as a capsule; you apply a serum to the skin. The amounts and application are therefore not comparable.
Magnesium stearate is a compound of magnesium and stearic acid, a fatty acid that occurs naturally in plant and animal fats. It is used during capsule production as an excipient, so the powder runs smoothly through the machines and each capsule is evenly filled.
