Purified shilajit resin, capsules and gummies explained
Shilajit is a dark, sticky substance that seeps from rock crevices in high mountain ranges such as the Himalayas and the Altai. It forms slowly from plant material that breaks down while pressed between layers of rock. What you buy is that material after purification: washed, filtered and either concentrated into a resin or dried into a powder. Its best known component is fulvic acid, a compound formed when plants decompose, together with a broad mix of minerals and trace elements. That mineral profile is why it sits alongside our wider mineral range.
The form on the label changes the product
Resin is the traditional format: a small amount stirred into warm water or milk. It is the least processed option and usually carries the highest declared fulvic acid share. The trade-off is honest and worth knowing: it tastes strongly earthy and bitter, it sticks to the spoon, and you judge the amount by eye.
Capsules contain dried, powdered shilajit extract. You get a fixed amount, no taste, and something you can take to work. Drying costs part of the declared fulvic acid, and some capsules stretch a little extract with fillers or with blends of ashwagandha, lion's mane and sea moss. Gummies are the easiest to keep up with daily, but they bring sugar or sweeteners and the least shilajit per serving.
Purity matters more than the milligram number on the front
Because shilajit forms inside rock, the raw material can carry lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury. Purification removes most of it. Raw resin, scraped and sold unprocessed, does not go through that step, which is why we do not stock it. A batch certificate from an independent laboratory tells you more than a large milligram figure. Useful detail to look for: heavy metals measured by ICP-MS, a lab method sensitive enough to detect metals at parts per billion.

Shilajit has no authorised health claims in Great Britain, so we will not promise you anything. What we can say is how people use it: one serving a day, in the morning, for at least two to three weeks before judging it. Consistency does more than a bigger scoop. Warm, not boiling: very hot water is unnecessary and harder to drink. Most people take it in the morning.
