Why we stock Laveen: clean label drops and capsules
Laveen is a Dutch brand with a deliberately small range: drops and capsules for babies, children, mothers and women in later life stages. Every formula holds the active vitamins, minerals or plant extracts plus one carrier, such as organic extra virgin olive oil, a capsule shell or a softgel. No sugar, no sweeteners, no flavourings, no fillers. The name is pronounced like "clean", and that is the whole idea behind it. You will find the range here, next to the other brands we work with.
The olive oil base is a technical choice, not a story. Vitamins D, K, A and E dissolve in fat, so they mix into oil and are taken up with it. It also explains a limit Laveen accepts openly: the multivitamin drops carry only those four fat-soluble vitamins. Minerals barely dissolve in a liquid, and water-soluble vitamins such as C need a different base. Putting everything in one bottle would mean adding excipients, so Laveen keeps them in separate products.
Which Laveen product fits which stage
- From birth: infant drops with vitamin K1 in olive oil, three drops a day.
- From about three months: multivitamin drops with vitamin D3, K2, A and E.
- Children and adults: single drops, such as vitamin D3 from lichen or B12 as methylcobalamin, the form the body uses directly.

Sugar-free drops taste of what they are. The olive oil drops are neutral rather than sweet, and most parents mix them into milk, yoghurt or porridge, or give them from a spoon. That is a fair trade. Gummies and flavoured syrups are easier to offer a toddler, but they need sugars, sweeteners or binders to hold their shape. UK guidance sets clear amounts, which makes it easy to check a label. Vitamin D contributes to the normal growth and development of bone in children and to the normal function of the immune system. Note that formula-fed babies taking more than 500 ml of infant formula a day do not need extra vitamin D, as formula is already fortified.

Laveen makes specific products for this stage, including capsules with DHA from algae. Maternal intake of DHA contributes to the normal development of the brain in the foetus and breastfed infants. One point deserves care: the NHS advises pregnant women to avoid supplements containing vitamin A, as too much can be harmful in pregnancy. The Laveen multivitamin drops do contain vitamin A, so they are meant for children and other adults, not as a pregnancy multivitamin. If you take prescribed medication, check with your midwife or GP first.
Most of them combine without trouble. The immunity drops, the probiotic drops and the B12 drops can be given alongside another product, and they can go into water, yoghurt or porridge, or straight from a spoon. The probiotic drops are best given neat from a spoon. What you should not stack are products that both contain vitamin D, such as the multivitamin drops together with the separate D3 or D3-K2 drops. That only creates unnecessary overlap.
Because that is the only way to keep a liquid formula clean. Those four vitamins are fat-soluble, so they dissolve in the olive oil base and stay stable there. Minerals such as magnesium or iron barely dissolve in a liquid, and water-soluble vitamins such as C and the B group need a different base entirely. Combining all of them in one bottle would require emulsifiers, stabilisers and usually a flavour to mask the result. Laveen chose four vitamins in oil instead, and sells the rest separately.
Store the bottles cool and dark, roughly between 15 and 25 degrees, and use them within six months of opening. That window is shorter than many sweetened products, and the reason is straightforward: without preservatives, an oil or glycerine base has a limited life once air reaches it. In practice this suits daily use well, since a bottle of multivitamin drops covers about three months at five drops a day. Unopened, our products carry at least a year of shelf life at purchase.
