Three groups make up most of what Biovea puts its own name on, and they sit alongside the other names we carry:
- Single-ingredient capsules and tablets, for example 5-HTP at 50 mg per capsule, acetyl-L-carnitine with alpha-lipoic acid, and St John's Wort.
- Beauty from inside and outside: collagen in capsules and tablets, often paired with vitamin C, next to topical creams with retinol or fruit acids. Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of the skin.
- Liquids and oils: dropper bottles and single essential oils, useful if you would rather not swallow capsules.
Most capsules in the range are vegetarian, which matters if you avoid gelatine. You will also see the same ingredient at two speeds: a standard capsule and a time-release tablet. Time-release means the tablet lets the ingredient out slowly over several hours instead of all at once.

Biovea sites in other countries list melatonin, and it is one of the products people search for by name. In the UK melatonin is a prescription-only medicine, so it cannot be sold as a food supplement here at all. We do not stock it, and we would rather say that plainly than let you keep looking. The range is also broad, and breadth has a downside: not every product in it carries an approved health claim. Where the evidence stops, we stop too, instead of filling the gap with promises.

No. In the UK melatonin is classed as a prescription-only medicine, not a food supplement, so no shop can legally sell it over the counter. The NHS states that melatonin supplements sold abroad are not authorised for sale here. That is why you will not see it in our Biovea selection, even though other Biovea country sites list it. If sleep is your goal, speak to your GP about melatonin, or look at ingredients that are permitted in food supplements in Great Britain.
Plan on two to three weeks of consistent daily use before you draw a conclusion, and longer for anything aimed at hair, skin or nails, where growth cycles mean two to three months is more realistic. Supplements top up intake over time, they do not act like a dose of medicine. Taking a product at the same moment each day, with a meal where the label suggests it, makes it far easier to judge fairly.
