Biovea Vitamin K2 100 mcg (30 vegetarian capsules) is a supplement that provides vitamin K2, derived from natto, a fermented soy product. The product also contains alfalfa extract as an additional ingredient. This formula is suitable for vegetarians. This product is produced according to strict quality standards.
It is derived from natto, a traditional Japanese fermented soy product. The vitamin K2 in natto is produced by fermentation with Bacillus subtilis, a bacterium known for its ability to produce vitamin K2.
Vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) is mainly found in green leafy vegetables. Vitamin K2 (menaquinone-7) is mainly found in fermented foods.
Vitamin K2 affects blood clotting. This can be disadvantageous when using coumarin derivatives (vitamin K antagonists), due to their opposing effects.
This product is often combined with vitamin D, but always consult an expert if in doubt.
