Swanson Vitamins Full Spectrum Reishi Mushroom (60 capsules) is a botanical supplement made from the reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum), also known as the 'lingzhi' mushroom. This Full Spectrum formula uses the entire fruiting body, without extracts or processing, thereby staying close to the mushroom’s natural form. Reishi has been traditionally used for centuries in Asian herbal practices. Each daily dose of two capsules contains a total of 1200 mg reishi powder.
What is reishi?
Reishi is a mushroom that naturally grows on deciduous trees in Asia. It is also known as Ganoderma lucidum or 'lingzhi'. Reishi has been used for centuries in traditional Asian cultures, mainly as part of a balanced lifestyle.
Where does reishi naturally occur?
Reishi grows in the wild mainly in China, Japan, and other parts of Asia. Nowadays, it is often sustainably cultivated on wood or logs for supplement use.
What is the difference between reishi powder and reishi extract?
Reishi powder is made from the whole, dried mushroom and contains all natural components. Extracts, on the other hand, are often concentrated on specific substances, but sometimes lose other parts of the plant. This supplement contains pure powder, without extraction, in a Full Spectrum formula.
What does 'Full Spectrum' mean for this product?
Full Spectrum means that the entire fruiting body of the mushroom is used, without processing or extracts. This way, the composition stays as natural and complete as possible.
