SuperFeast Eucommia Bark (100 g) contains a 10:1 dual extract powder of Eucommia bark (Eucommia ulmoides). The powder is vegan and therefore suitable for various dietary patterns. Thanks to its powdered form, the product is easy to mix into hot water or plant-based milk. The recommended dosage is 1 g (half a teaspoon), 1 to 2 times a day, dissolved in 250 ml of hot water and drunk immediately. One 100 g pack contains 100 servings.
Eucommia, in Latin Eucommia ulmoides, is a deciduous tree that naturally occurs in central China. The bark of this tree has been used in traditional Chinese herbal medicine for over 2,500 years and is known as one of the oldest described herbs in this system.
This product contains only the bark of the Eucommia tree. The bark is harvested and then processed into a 10:1 dual extract powder.
A dual extract means that the raw material has been processed using two different extraction methods in succession, for example first with water and then with alcohol, to concentrate a broader range of constituents from the bark than is possible with a single extraction method.
A designation like 10:1 indicates the concentration ratio: 10 parts of the original bark are used to obtain 1 part extract.
Eucommia is originally found in central and eastern China, where the tree has been cultivated for centuries, mainly for its bark.
Eucommia ulmoides is the only living species within its plant family (Eucommiaceae) and is therefore sometimes referred to as a 'living fossil' in botany.
Eucommia bark is botanically known for its content of lignans and iridoids. These substances are naturally present in the bark of this tree.
