Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. Each protein consists of a chain of amino acids in a specific order. These chains are broken down by the body into individual amino acids, which are then used in various ways within your diet.

Essential amino acids are those that must be obtained through your diet. Non-essential amino acids are also present in food, but they are often considered supplementary to a lesser extent. Both types are present in a complete protein like whey protein isolate.

Animal proteins like whey generally contain all essential amino acids in optimal proportions. Many plant-based sources contain fewer or less balanced amounts, unless they are combined.

Whey protein isolate is filtered further than concentrate. This results in a higher percentage of protein per 100 grams and fewer residual substances such as fat, lactose, and carbohydrates. Isolate is therefore more suitable for those who want a protein source with minimal additions.

Although the lactose content is very low due to the isolation, the product still contains a small amount of lactose. If you are lactose intolerant, it is advisable to consider whether a fully lactose-free alternative would be a better fit.

Less than 0.6% sunflower lecithin is added to improve the solubility of the protein powder in liquid. This plant-based emulsifier helps the powder dissolve lump-free in water, milk or juice.
