Nordic Naturals Beta-carotene + Carotenoids (30 softgels) combines 900 mcg beta-carotene with additional carotenoids such as lycopene, alpha-carotene, xanthophylls, and astaxanthin. The ingredients are sourced from natural sources such as plants, microalgae, and tomato extract. This formula is often chosen by people looking for a broad carotenoid profile. Each softgel also contains organic extra virgin olive oil as a carrier.
Beta-carotene is a plant-based precursor of vitamin A. In supplements, it is often chosen as an alternative to animal forms such as retinyl palmitate.
Carotenoids are natural color pigments found in vegetables, fruit, and algae. They belong to a broad group of plant substances that are often combined in one supplement.
The beta-carotene comes from Blakeslea trispora, a natural source of beta-carotene.
Lycopene is a carotenoid derived from tomato extract and is part of the total carotenoid profile in this formula. It is often chosen as an addition in broad-spectrum carotenoid mixes.
Astaxanthin is a red pigment that in this supplement is derived from the microalga Haematococcus pluvialis. It is a widely used carotenoid in algae-based supplements.
Yes, it is recommended to take the softgel with a meal, for example breakfast or lunch. This ensures a practical and convenient moment of use.
