Two ingredients, two very different kinds of evidence
The plant part is AnaGain Nu, a water-soluble powder made from sprouted organic peas by Swiss ingredient maker Mibelle Biochemistry. Yes. The capsule shell is HPMC, made from plant cellulose, so there is no animal gelatin. The active ingredients are a pea shoot extract and biotin, and the filler is microcrystalline cellulose. That makes the product suitable for vegetarians and vegans. If you follow a plant-based diet, keep in mind that hair also depends on iron, zinc and enough protein, nutrients that are easier to fall short on without animal foods.
Biotin needs do not rise much at these stages: EFSA sets the same 40 µg a day in pregnancy and 45 µg while breastfeeding. That does not automatically make a supplement appropriate, because pregnancy supplements are usually chosen as one coordinated plan. Postpartum shedding is also common and usually settles on its own. Yes, and this is the detail most product pages leave out. Many laboratory blood tests use a streptavidin-biotin method, and a high biotin intake can distort those readings, for example for thyroid or hormone markers. The result can be falsely high or falsely low. It is not a safety problem with the vitamin itself, but a measurement issue. Tell your doctor or the lab that you take a biotin supplement before blood is drawn, and follow any advice to pause it beforehand.
