5-HTP is a substance naturally found in the seeds of the Griffonia simplicifolia plant, which mainly grows in West Africa. In this formula, an extract of the seed is used, standardized to at least 20% 5-HTP. This ingredient is often chosen because of its unique nutritional value, which is hardly present in a regular diet.

Bonusan Sleep & Rest Formula contains magnesium in two well-absorbable forms: magnesium citrate and magnesium bisglycinate. These forms are widely used in supplements because they dissolve well in water and have broad applications. Magnesium naturally occurs in, among other things, nuts, seeds, and leafy vegetables.

The vitamin B6 in this formula is present in the active form pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (P-5-P). This variant does not occur in food but is often chosen in supplements because it is directly available for the body. Vitamin B6 is naturally found in meat, fish, potatoes, and bananas.

Vitamin B12 is present as methylcobalamin, a biologically active form that is often used in high-quality supplements. This form is not directly obtained from food but is well-soluble and suitable for vegetarians. Vitamin B12 is naturally mainly found in animal products.

The folic acid in this supplement is present as 5-MTHF (Quatrefolic®), a stabilized, active form of folate. This form does not occur in food but is chosen in supplement form because of its pure and stable properties. Folate is naturally found in leafy vegetables, legumes, and citrus fruits.

Valerian is a plant whose root is primarily used in supplements. This product contains a standardized extract that contains at least 0.8% valerenic acid. Valerian root is traditionally used in relaxation formulas and is not found in a regular diet.

Ashwagandha is a herb with origins in traditional Indian practices. This supplement uses a root extract containing at least 2.5% withanolides.
