Vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) is primarily found in plant-based sources such as mushrooms, while vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) comes from animal sources such as fatty fish and lanolin (wool grease). This form is also produced by the skin when exposed to sunlight.
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means it is better absorbed when combined with fat. The special sunflower oil used here is naturally low in omega 6 and contains more than 75% omega 9 fatty acids.
