Vitakruid Vitamin K Baby Drops (10 ml) are specially developed for newborns. The dosage aligns with the advice of the Health Council to give breastfed infants 150 mcg extra vitamin K daily from day 8 to 12 weeks. These drops, with two forms of vitamin K, are a good daily supplement for babies up to and including 12 weeks.

Why does my baby need extra vitamin K?
Newborns do not yet have the right gut bacteria to produce enough vitamin K themselves. The dose of vitamin K that the baby receives immediately after birth is sufficient for the first week. From day 8 to 12 weeks, it is recommended to give 150 mcg of extra vitamin K daily to breastfed babies.
How should I give my baby the vitamin K drops?
You can give the drops directly into your baby’s mouth using the pipette or mix them with expressed milk. It is helpful to give the vitamin K drops at a fixed time of day, such as before or after a feeding, to make it easier to remember.
When and for how long should I give my baby vitamin K?
Start on day 8 after birth and continue until the 13th week. The supplementation advice applies to breastfed babies. Premature babies need vitamin K supplementation for a longer period. Consult this with the doctor or child health clinic.
