Turmeric is a spice derived from the Curcuma longa plant. The root is often dried and ground, and is recognizable by its yellow color.

This supplement contains the whole ground herb (full spectrum), without extraction. An extract usually contains higher concentrations of certain compounds such as curcuminoids.

When using medication, especially anticoagulants or drugs that affect the liver, it is wise to consult a doctor first. In medical conditions like gallbladder problems, combining with turmeric may also be undesirable.

The absorption of turmeric can be improved by combining it with black pepper (piperine), for example in a formula with BioPerine®. This compound is known for increasing absorption of certain nutrients.
